Falling, Running, Crawling, and Rolling Down the Rabbit Hole
It's late October! That means Halloween, my second favorite holiday is around the corner, Spring 2012 registration is revving up (which means I get to schedule tutors for next semester soon - GAG), midterms are over, preparation for finals is gearing up, there have been some job interviews and possible opportunities/options to get our family under one roof again, it's time to start acting on all of the Christmas gift plans I've been concocting over the past few months and I'm starting preparations for NaNoWriMo! So, I am now working on character sketches, loose story lines, research, and wishful thinking that this year I will make it passed the blasted finish line!
In other words, I'm busy! I know my posting has been spotty the past week or two (or three :\), but my limited spare time of 20 minutes is now about 8 minutes. I have been doing a lot of playing around over on my Polyvore, so please check me out over there: http://www.stylebydaisyrose.polyvore.com/
Wish me luck in NaNoWriMo. Here's my last Polyvore set:

I first started this as a Halloween costume, but then I thought how fun would it be to wear this out to dinner. To walk in Helena Bonham Carter's crazy shoes, to not care what others think, to be quirky and sexy all at the same time, to be able to pull off being a clown, a witch, a vampire, a sex symbol, a model, passionate, intense, laid back, and cool all in one swoop!

JCP - Falling into Spring
I entered a contest on Polyvore, let me tell you there are some creative people out there! This is my entry and I love it, yes, I'm biased. But most of all....check out those fabulous thigh high boot/heel get-ups! Those are awesome, sure, there nearly 500 dollars, but a girl can dream can't she?
If you want to check out my other set, click here.

Styling the Stars: Keira Knightley
Over at Polyvore I've decided to do a mini-hobby project: Styling the Stars. I think it would be such fun to dress some of the "beautiful" people. Here is what I'd like to see Keira Knightly wear at her next movie preview. What do you think?

Whimsical Playroom
Whimsical Playroom by stylebydaisyrose on Polyvore.com
I spotted this couch and thought WHIMSY! I love all things whimsical. What a gorgeous playroom this would be. I would also add a fun chandelier or fan and lots of colorful organization units; you know, for the kids. And no, they would not be allowed to eat, drink, or paint. However, I'm dying to do a wall with chalkboard paint, again, for the kids, of course. Don't worry safety enthusiasts, I would use battery operated candles in the wall sconces.
You can find the specific items here.

Autumn Breeze
Autumn Breeze by stylebydaisyrose
I LOVE, LOVE this look. I think I've realized that I'm not really that much of a fashion disaster. My problem is that I do not have the funds or the patience to acquire this look in reality. Would you like to make a donation to my fashion fund? Please email me and we'll work something out. :) Just kidding, sort of. My favorite in this: the purse and the boots, yummy. If you want to see where these specific items can be purchased, check out my polyvore page, it lists everything for you.
This weekend I took my son to a department store to try to piece together a more affordable version of this look, I bought a deep purple wallet. I think I missed the mark just a little. It wasn't completely my fault, my son got a little freaked out by the manikins. He's seen manikins before, but this one caught him by surprise and he never really recovered. I was walking toward a top, holding my son, and as we were passing a manikin, which consisted only of a headless torso, he spotted it out of the corner of his eye, looked and gave a little yelp. He continued to give this odd little yelp every time he spotted one and no matter what path a strategized (I know it's not a real word, but I think it should be) there were too many manikins to maneuver around. They must have had a discount at a manikin parts factory; they were everywhere! By the way, manikin parts and doll parts most definitely go on my skin crawling list. So, we left the manikin cemetery and headed to the park instead.

Love Rocks
I have found a lovely piece of procrastination, imagination heaven! Polyvore! Never heard of it before today and I am in love! I think I'm terrible at putting outfits together; I've started pre-shopping online, copy/pasting the items I like into an outfit, running them by my British husband who, like most Brits, has a better fashion eye than I, and then going to the store to purchase the researched items.
Then I found Polyvore. It lets me play with outfits of all types, put everything together, and voila! I feel like a real fashion designer, oh how I'd love to be a real fashion designer. Below is my first attempt, I call it Love Rocks. What I want most is that unbelievable leather jacket. But alas, i don't think they carry that at Target or Express. Oh well, fantasies, fantasies.
p.s. You can even follow me and my blundering fashion ways on Polyvore, if you are so inclined.
